How We Check Moving Companies

FMCSA Federal Database

Every licensed moving company in the US is registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. We pull their official safety data directly from this federal source — the same data regulators use.

Safety Rating Explained

The FMCSA assigns safety ratings: Satisfactory, Conditional, or Unsatisfactory. A Conditional or Unsatisfactory rating means the company has documented safety management failures. We translate these into plain English.

What ScamScore Measures

Our ScamScore (0–100) combines safety rating, insurance status, crash history, and out-of-service records into a single risk number. Higher means more risk. We then assign a clear verdict: Verified Safe, Use Caution, Significant Risk, or Do Not Use.
